SligoWindscreens.com is an independent information site about windscreens and vehicle glass, written for drivers in Sligo, the North West and the rest of Ireland.

What we do and do not do

• We publish guides that explain how windscreens and vehicle glass work, how damage is assessed, how the NCT approaches glass and how insurance claims usually work.
• We do not sell, fit or repair glass, give quotes, take bookings or handle insurance claims.
• We are not an insurer, broker or testing centre, and we do not recommend particular businesses.

How we write the guides

Our guides are written in plain English for drivers rather than for the trade. Where we state rules or official requirements we point to the organisation responsible, such as the National Car Testing Service (ncts.ie), the Road Safety Authority (rsa.ie), the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (ccpc.ie) and the Financial Services and Pensions Ombudsman (fspo.ie). Rules and policy wordings change, so always check the current position with the official source or your insurer before relying on it.
